I think Imma brace myself for real hardships this time. As Andreas stated above, the hurdles for SHEA relationships have been... peaceful and too perfect. In this world, specifically in Shore world, such a thing doesn't last long...
Basically, I'm weirdly calm now after being so nervous since the promo aired, knowing somehow Shaun and Lea have a certain cow-bell lurking inside their apartment....So, bring on the heavy drama, Shore! Game on! -- Faghost
With three weeks separating TGD’s “Parenting” episode from the “Irresponsible…” follow-up, there seemed plenty of time to blog about non-#Shea related things, as I do from time to time… Lim’s in deeper trouble now than when I last wrote about her, the Newbies are fighting for screentime and storytime, and is Park just going to stay roommates with Morgan indefinitely or what? To name a few topics…
But I can’t, because our initial shock and surprise from the 4.9 promo has morphed into an unrelenting pot of feelings that are at risk for bubbling over until the evening of February 15. So, like any decent cook who is trying to avoid a big, burned mess on the stove later... I feel a need to stay nearby and keep a hand near the temperature controls. (I’ll leave it to Andreas to stir the contents of this “pot” every now and again; he’s quite good at that 😉
As of today, “When That Damn Promo 4.9 Tells Damn Promo 4.7 ‘Hold My Tequila (Stat)’” has the most views of ANY post I’ve written about The Good Doctor since I started doing so 13 months ago. The second-most viewed post, “Realizing ‘What That Was’” (the big season finale post that dealt most specifically with the final minutes of 3.20 “I Love You”), has been available for about 10 months now. The TDP post? It’s been available for less than two weeks.
And, as I’ve mentioned here and there, over 80 comments were contributed between a dozen of us, including two longtime readers who felt inspired to contribute to the conversation for the first time ever! (Excerpts from said comments are scattered throughout this post.)
While I’m extremely gratified by such numbers, and thank every one of you for being here… I share this information mostly out of sheer fascination that a 30-second promo has generated all this. What is “this”? See, I hesitate to even put a name on it. All this… HEAT? No; that could be misconstrued as the promo itself being “hot” and that’s the very last way most #Shea fans want to describe Shaun being attracted to another woman. All this… ANGER? Maybe, but that would dismiss the fans who have a more measured, analytical take on what they’ve seen thus far. All this… UNCERTAINTY? Maybe we go with that. Particularly if you’ve seen not only the ABC promo but also the CTV promo (Canada’s network for TGD), which sees the whole attraction thing through a much more lighthearted lens.
By my count, here are the three big question marks that hang in the air regarding the 2/15 episode (officially titled “Irresponsible Salad Bar Practices”; I’m calling it “Irresponsible...” here):
Will we actually have to see Shaun kiss Dr. D’Souza (we’ve seen the set-up, but not an actual kiss)?
I don’t think I’m off the mark in saying many fans are livid
over the idea of Freddie Highmore kissing a guest star when, we assume for COVID reasons, we haven’t seen him liplocked with Lea (Paige Spara) since November. It’s a fact that has nothing to do with the storyline itself, but it doesn’t help matters. At all.
Having said that… in the CTV promo we see Shaun blurt out “We kissed” to Park and Jordan, followed somewhere in there with “My brain isn’t behaving the way I want it to.” My guess is that what we’ve seen thus far represents a dream kiss we won’t actually have to see carried through. My guess? Okay, my HOPE...
Why does it matter? Maybe it doesn’t. We know the intention is there, and clearly that’s enough to set off a lot of us. But for argument’s sake… and keeping in mind how literal-minded Shaun is, as well as how much every millimeter of proximity and physical contact matters to him… it could be the difference between fidelity and infidelity in his mind. (Imagine him telling Lea “We almost kissed but we didn’t actually kiss...”)
Is it a fantasy/dream kiss, a real kiss, or both?
Some of us-- definitely not ALL of us, but some-- take comfort in the idea that the kiss is a figment of Shaun’s imagination and nothing more. And that’s definitely a possibility. But even if what we’ve seen thus far is Shaun’s brain in misbehave mode, we’re still left to wonder: if he’s overcome with thoughts of kissing Dr. D’Souza, will that culminate in him kissing her for real by episode’s end?
If so, why does it matter-- especially if it ultimately strengthens his feelings for Lea? Um…that’s a biggie. We’ll get back to that. Promise.
How will Lea react to whatever happens? (The idea that he’ll ‘tell her everything’ seems a bygone conclusion)
We got a big hint at the answer to this in the CTV promo, with Lea assuring Shaun that simply feeling attracted to others while in a committed relationship is normal (“I’m still attracted to other guys sometimes,” she tells him, allowing her eyes to follow a good looking man past their cafeteria table as she says it). But we all know that her (very brief) reaction shot in the ABC promo is more distressing. Is it indicative of a real-kiss confession? Will it be a line crossed? Or is it a red herring, courtesy of ABC promotions?
Will she disappear for a day to clear her head? Put their relationship on “pause”? Head home and ring the hell out of that cowbell?
This one “matters,” of course, because it could be the difference between #Shea figuring out this hurdle together rather than separately. They stand a much better chance if they find a way to do it together, don’t you think? But I’m getting ahead of myself.
...Being happy in a committed relationship with someone doesn't mean that you stop noticing other members of the opposite sex. It's what you do with that attraction that matters.-- Amy D.
And then there are the even bigger question marks looming for the fans most unsettled by the promo:
Bigger question to the writers: why this? Why now?
As you already know if you read any of my “Now That They Found Love…” posts last summer (which speculated on challenges, unique and otherwise, that #Shea might face as a couple)... the words “jealousy,” “betrayal,” and “infidelity” are nowhere to be found. It honestly didn’t occur to me that either of them might find themselves in such a situation… not this soon, anyway.
As far as I can tell, it occurred to very few of you either.
Could that be why the writers opted to go this route? And to do so with the less expected of the two characters (Shaun)? Maybe that’s part of it, but I suspect a lot more than shock value was in mind when the “Irresponsible…” script was written. (The ABC promo, on the other hand? Nothing BUT shock value. Important to keep the story and the promo separate, I think.)
There are the all-important lessons Shaun has yet to learn about love, lust, and impulse control. There’s the matter of Lea’s confidence and self-esteem-- some of which might be built up via Shaun, but most of which has to come from within. (Think of what was confirmed this week about Lea’s role in the 2/22 “Decrypt” episode, and the fact that all that comes right after whatever “all this” will reveal itself to be on 2/15.)
There are the issues of building “more commitment and trust” that were touched on when Lea moved back in with Shaun. Is it better to tackle matters of (potential) betrayal now rather than later, if Shaun and Lea are to take the ultimate step towards a lifetime together? (Perhaps this is their answer to the “Why now?” question.)
How can any of this happen if Shaun has another woman on his mind? Whether this turns out to be a semi-humorous sidebar to the “Irresponsible…” synopsis, or a footnote of an incident to keep in mind for complications in #Shea’s future, or even one of those storyline catapults TGD likes to employ... they’re betting we still want to watch it unfold, even if we’re uncomfortable with the situation at hand.
Are they right? Although some viewers have been quite vocal about wanting/needing to skip TGD 4.9 and move right on to episode 4.10, I’m gonna keep on saying it for the rest of the #Shea shippers: trust the writers, trust the process. Even when we don’t like the direction things seem to be headed. Maybe ESPECIALLY in those times. Isn’t that what faith is all about?
Bigger question to Shaun, if he could hear us: "How could you….?"
of the 4.9 promo debut as they were about its contents. For barely a minute had passed since the final #Shea scene in the mighty good “Parenting” episode… one we had expected and looked forward to for months… and then, BAM. Stay tuned three weeks from now because Dr. Murphy-- you know, that guy who loves his girlfriend enough to take time out of his day to confront her parents and seek acceptance on her behalf? Yeah, he’s going to allow a virtual stranger to make a pass at him. Or not. Maybe it’s in his head! Find out 2/15!
So, there was that wicked little juxtaposition.
As for the How could he… part, reader Andreas shared (via the comments) the reminder that people with ASD are more likely to act upon their impulses than neurotypical people. (As an autistic man himself, I imagine Andreas is keenly aware of such tendencies. IF Shaun goes through with a real kiss… remember this.)
But as to how Shaun might feel drawn to another woman in the first place? Well… imagine being Shaun and finding an attractive woman drawn to you right away, clear as day, seemingly without any regard for your ASD. You grew up being either ignored or bullied by girls, ultimately either feeling completely invisible or painfully exposed.
As an adult you’ve had 2 girlfriends… one never seemed to consider you as dating material until you mustered the courage to ask her out; the other (and current one) fought her attraction to you for years out of fear that she couldn’t handle your ASD needs, nor could you handle her NT needs. What if… given all THAT… a beautiful, talented, sure-of-herself doctor not only SAW you right away, but sincerely wanted to see MORE of you? Wouldn’t that be kind of astounding?
Maybe you’d be intrigued to the point that your “brain did things you didn’t want it to”...?
Maybe you’d be confused enough to keep your distance while you figured it out (assuming you could if you worked with that woman)...?
Or maybe the attraction would override all other questions, including the one Shaun asked in the ABC version of the promo (“Shouldn’t loving Lea make it go away?”)...
Not trying to pour salt in the wound… just trying to see things from a different perspective.
I like the idea of seeing Shaun in new territory. For the first time, we're seeing him as the recipient of someone else's (deliberate) attraction while in a steady, committed relationship. There's the idea of temptation - and the opportunity to overcome it!-- Tony
And by the way, one more wild card in this whole storyline is Dr. D’Souza herself. IS she truly “crushing” on Shaun as I described above? Or might she be put off by his ASD, or is otherwise uninterested? And if she is attracted to him… Is she single, or is she in a committed relationship of her own? How would we feel if she puts the moves on Shaun for real and he bails immediately? Or how would we feel if Lea sought her out for a little chat somewhere in the course of the episode?
As usual, I’m surely thinking bigger than the amount of #Shea time allotted in this particular episode. But my point is there’s SO much we don’t know yet about what we’ll see Monday.
Bigger question to ourselves: Why is this whole idea so deeply upsetting?
I confess that I don’t know how Lea will ever be able to trust Shaun again.-- Melanie Meirr
There’s a lot to unpack with this one… the more complex one’s thoughts are about fidelity in a committed relationship, the more luggage you’re carrying around:
What qualifies as infidelity? A kiss? An improper touch? An improper conversation? Or is it only when something more explicit/sexual actually takes place?
What qualifies as a “committed relationship” other than marriage? Does marriage still qualify if the couple is estranged or otherwise separated? Do the same rules apply to a couple living together without being married?
How much of a deal-breaker is infidelity? Is it one-strike-and-you’re-out, no matter how far things went? Is it somehow tolerated to an extent? How many variations have you heard from friends, family members, or your own personal experience?
Everyone’s answer varies, and yet one thing might hold true: if YOU feel you’ve been betrayed by your significant other, it might be the one blow from which your relationship will never fully recover. It hits where many are most vulnerable; it shatters trust and self-worth on perhaps the deepest of personal levels. Even if the one who strayed feels true remorse and is willing to try anything to save the relationship… they can never undo what they’ve done.
I think this is the part that upsets #Shea fans the most-- the idea that Shaun may be on his way to committing the “one blow” from which he and Lea might not recover. Let me rephrase that last part… the idea that SHAUN--of all people!!--may be responsible for the “one blow”...
Because we think of Shaun as practically immune from that kind of temptation, right? Why is that?
Andreas called us out on that, too:
I find it curious that you all want to believe that Shaun kissing someone else must be a dream. You might ask yourself if you are idealizing Shaun and his autism, projecting your wish for purity into a character whose perception is very different to yours...
And I say “us” because I think I’m guilty of it myself. Have I put him on a pedestal? How much of my personal dismay comes from thinking Shaun’s not the kind of guy that would do that… vs. Shaun would surprise me if he did that (because his ASD gives him an almost angelic innocent quality if I’m being totally honest?)
It’s worth a thought or two, isn’t it? I want to say Shaun’s not that kind of guy because he’s so devoted to Lea; the “straying” mentality just isn’t part of his personality… but how much of his personality is shaped by his ASD? A condition known for a lack of impulse control, as Andreas said?
It’s occurred to me, as I write all this, that Lea may have Shaun on the very same pedestal as the rest of us.... and she may not realize it herself until Shaun does/says whatever he’s going to do/say about Dr. D’Souza. We all remember what she said back in the “Autopsy” episode: “You’re a wonderful man, Shaun… maybe the most wonderful man I’ve ever met.”
If he does something heretofore unexpected in the “Irresponsible…” episode-- or even if he doesn't-- maybe it’s meant to be a necessary grounding moment for both of them.
And, by extension, viewers like us.
Just a thought.
(There are plenty of "thoughts" to go around on this particular upcoming episode... share yours in the comments if you're so inclined!)
(Especially if you're a guy... we probably need more male representation in the comments. Especially on this topic.)

Hello, I have been reading this blog for some times and I want to share my point of view.
(And sorry English is not my first language 😅)
Given the plot of episodes 7 and 8, the next logical step is to put shaun and Lea's relationship to the test.
This is why what will take place in the next episodes is very important and announces something strong ( proposal,...) between shaun and lea.
Lea has always put shaun on a pedestal, (and there is plenty of references to that during the last 3 seasons) and those from their first meetings. I think the writers are trying to shatter this, the image of the ideal man different from her previous relationships. And in addition, those episodes will answer questions essential for a lasting relationship;
Do you love me more than you hate what I did to you?
Do you love me for who I am or for who you want or think I am?
The next few episodes coming up are a turning point in this relationship (in a good way), and I can't wait to see what happens next.
Excellent ideas, Kelli and Goltran!
Before I leap into the discussion, let me do something that wasn’t needed for a while now: dumping some background information on ASD that most probably will not be explained but be at play in episode 409.
The keyword here is “executive functions”.
The Executive Dysfunction Theory suggests that the complex behavioral manifestations of ASD are consequences of impaired executive processes. “Executive function” is an umbrella term for several mental operations, such as inhibition, set shifting, flexibility, organization, planning, self-monitoring, and working memory. These cognitive processes enable an individual to disengage from the immediate context in order to coordinate and execute future goals. Executive function deficits have been implicated in both the social and nonsocial symptoms of ASD. For example, restricted and repetitive behaviors can be attributable to a lack of cognitive flexibility or set-shifting and may also explain rigid and perseverative behaviors. Does some of this ring a bell with what we know and what we have seen of Shaun so far?
Shaun is the hero of the story, the audience wants to identify with their hero and in doing so often forgets about the flaws and weaknesses of that said hero. Thus, the storyteller has to remind his audience from time to time.
In fact, Shaun has many weaknesses and flaws. For example, when he has a private question, the answers can’t wait, even if he is performing a medical procedure. When a medical idea strikes, he abandons his girlfriend immediately. Granted, he has worked on that lately, but Lea actively reenforced the pattern again by ending their date night – as did his peers and colleagues for a long time.
Remember Lundberg, the strictly-business-only guy who dropped out because “all were unprofessional. Drinking at work. Asking inappropriate questions. Dating drama.” (4.03 “Newbies) And that was before Shaun made a department-wide poll on shower sex or dumped adult toys on Chief Lim’s desk (before she was even in her office!).
There are other long-standing problems: when pushed too far, Shaun looses emotional control and either engages in self-harm (hitting his head) or lashes out (slapping Glassman, almost smashing Lea’s car).
While Shaun’s violent streak is mostly pushed aside by fans, his constant violations of social boundaries are (rightfully) attributed to his condition and therefore mostly accepted by his colleagues and even found to be cute by fans.
Which they are in a certain way as they shatter social conventions in a refreshing way and often bring some clarity at the end of an episode.
Though, the current situation at the surgical department of St. Bonaventure is not all good. Chief Lim and her staff have come to know Shaun well, they took notice of his social awkwardness, got used to it and by know accept it as the price to pay for the asset Shaun is to the hospital. Thus, they have created a bubble, a safe space in which not only Shaun, but all of them, can comfortably tend to their various shortcomings.
(Lim’s denial of PTSD and the pressure her new job puts on her in general; Claire’s constant search for a parental figure and her need to rescue her mother posthumously; Morgan’s need for attachment despite her abrasive exterior – all themes worth to explore on another occasion)
Yet, as demonstrated with the character of Lundberg, the status quo might be perceived as unbecoming for a work environment by outsiders. Which also rises the question how functional would the characters still be if somebody or something disturbed or shattered their comfy bubble? Think of the whirlwind ravaging the halls of St. B that was named Jackson Han back in season 2.
Mid-season is nearing, and a new whirlwind is gathering strength on the horizon. It will probably shatter how characters perceive each other, and it might rattle the audience’s perception as well. Though, once the storm is over, the air might be much clearer than before.
Thanks Andreas

Good point kelli, writers really know what they're doing. And I love how Lea is everywhere this season 😁
Indeed, Lea-haters have a hard time with season 4.
And I probably can’t stress it enough to lessen the stress some fans might endure right now – from all what we have seen so far, “betrayal” is going to be the theme of the whole episode.
Lim feels betrayed by Claire revealing her mental distress to Glassman; Claire feels betrayed by the hospital for a still unknown reason; Lea surely feels betrayed by Shaun and Shaun not only feels betrayed by his own brain having thoughts for Dr. D’Souza, but also by Lea for still noticing other men (courtesy of the CTV promo). A perfect storm.
Looking at the mess this way, the episode’s timing is not only right for #Shea but also dictated by the greater scheme of season 4.
Plus, with all we already know of episode 4.10, the troubles of episode 4.09 feel more like the necessary prelude for addressing interwoven issues such as Lea’s self-image and how it is constituted by her attachment to Shaun the life-saving surgeon and her own achievements. Something that has implications for the sustainability of any long-term commitment.
Because I concur with Goltran, just as we have seen Shaun idealizing Lea (“… because your breasts are excellent. […] I am thrilled by every part of your body.”), so has Lea done with Shaun. It is time for their perception of each other to become more grounded.
Also, it is important for them to discover what traits and abilities constitute them as individuals, so that they aren’t thrown totally off-balance when their partner does something unexpected or hurtful.
Reverse is true it’s Shaun who puts Lea on a pedestal. The episode will shatter a perception that only Lea can hurt Shaun in this relationship. We’re being shown Shaun can hurt Lea and hurt her badly too.
So yesterday’s publicity photos say a lot. Three of them together but Lea strategically placed closer to Shaun and in between Shaun and DeSouza as if to block her from getting closer to Shaun. DeSouza dressed awfully similar to Lea to show the audience that Lea isn’t the only woman that Shaun can be with. And they’re smiling too! I think that’s the lesson of the episode. Promo pictures for episode 10 shows Shaun visiting Lea by the mainframe to lend support. Looks like they persevere through episode 9.
Great point Kelli about the lack of physical contact between them this season and an “interloper” marching in and getting a possible more sensual kiss then Shea has had all season. In fact it echoes the goodbye kiss of season one. Hey I just have a thought if the kiss is indeed “Real”. At the end of the episode DeSouza announces she has to leave the hospital for an emergency reason and she gives Shaun her version of the goodbye kiss so as to let him know yes she was attracted to Shaun and she wanted a future relationship with him. Who knows? My vivid imagination at work again.
To me the foundation of Shea is Shaun’s unconditional love for Lea and his finally winning her love as the pinnacle of attainment in a relationship for him. What makes the relationship compelling is the long shot underdog nature of the relationship. Shea is the USA defeating Russia in 1980 Olympics. “Do you believe in miracles? Yes!”. So when the producers mess with this it’s hurtful. And make no mistake they’re messing with us big time.
If you watch the comic con zoom from October the moderator describes Shaun situation as Lea’s going to give him the chance for something “he has rightfully worked for”. That got a laugh but it’s true that’s why we care so much. Shaun has “rightfully” worked for 3 seasons for this and has navigated some perilous relationship killers each week with tremendous skills. So yes we’re upset that the producers may toss everything we as the audience through Shaun have “rightfully worked for”.
Thanks for the new post, Kelli!
I concur with you, with Goltran, with Andreas, and with Steven about the importance of perception and the different meaning and scope a betrayal can have. Different people perceive things in different ways.
And it's definitely time for Shaun and Lea’s perception of each other to become more grounded! But, also for us viewer, maybe, to stop hero-worshipping our beloved Shaun.
It’s true that we very naturally tend to forgive everyone of his shortcomings. It’s easier to be forgiving when Shaun is clearly out of control, like when he slapped Glassy, back in season 1. It was a little bit harder when he threatened to destroy Lea’s car with a baseball bat, even if it happened following her firm and hurtful rejection, and after a couple of Tequila shots. Will we keep being so forgiving even in the face of Shaun being attracted (or even kissing) another woman? I still don’t have an answer. I suppose it will depend on the circumstances. I can understand Shaun’s difficulties in separating love from mere attraction. And I understand how alluring can be to suddenly become the object of another person’s attraction for someone like Shaun, who had been consistently bullied and rejected (even by his own parents) for all his life.
So, even in this particular situation it’s difficult to judge.
Do we tend to always forgive Shaun because he’s the hero? Because he has ASD? Because he’s cute? Because he’s had a very difficult life? I don’t know, maybe it’s a combination of all these things.
And I suppose that Lea herself will have a lot of similar questions of her own to answer. It’s surely a good thing that whatever is meant to happen will happen now and not later. To clear all clouds here and now is the only way to build a long-lasting relationship, based on mutual understanding. Relationships always strengthen after facing difficulties together, that’s a fact.
So, no matter how hard things might become in the following episodes, I believe that everything will work out just fine in the end.
Kelli, your reasoning about Shaun being intrigued because he might be actively pursued for the first time is a very convincing approach. Besides his two girlfriends already mentioned, the only other interaction with a girl we know of was with Colleen Myers in 1.04 “Pipes”, who tricked him for laughs.
This could be a very pleasing and compelling experience for someone with so little history in romance. And lest not forget, romance is a very difficult and exhausting experience for Shaun. His relationship with Carly was a long struggle for both from beginning to end, as was the journey between the second and third kiss for #Shea. The aftermath of these struggles can still be felt in Shaun’s sometimes excessive desire to prove his love to Lea. So, genuinely being courted by a woman would offer a break for Shaun.
Because all the arguments Shaun made to Lea and her parents about how he is perceived by others also tell us how painstakingly aware he is of this. And while he acts cool about it, I know personally how venomous and draining this thought still is on a subconscious level. Thus, not being scrutinized for your otherness, not being forced to adapt but feeling valued in the very moment is not a simple temptation as in matters of lust, it addresses the need for (self-) validation.
Though, while Dr. D’Souza’s interest in Shaun might be genuine, the writers also might have pursued the opposite direction. So far, season 4 has actively challenged some well-known fan critique, such as reviving Melendez – as “useless ghost”. Lundberg gave a voice to the “more medicine, less of Shaun’s sex life” faction – just to drop out quickly. Dr. D’Souza might turn out to be a caricature of the image Lea-haters paint: taking advantage of Shaun and playing with him.
Either way, with Shaun being tempted by another woman, the writers might ground Shea as well as the shippers. Two (or more) birds with one stone.
Great post Kelli, all the possible explanations you listed are very interesting.
Regarding Why it is upsetting to me: it's not that Shaun can feel attraction to another woman and possibly lets her kiss him per say. I've liked the character from the beginning but i've always thought that he wasn't perfect, he has said hurtful things, been unfair to people sometimes (like kicking Lea out of the apartment - yes i'm still a bit angry about it!), can't keep his intilate life private, etc. And he shouldn't always be excused because of his autism, doing so to me is kind of infantilizing for the character, and i've been fed up over the seasons of fans who put the blame on others but Shaun does nothing wrong, especially those constantly saying that Lea is not good enough for him, that she would hurt him again, completely disregarding his own past wrongdoings and his flaws and weaknesses.
However, I admit that I idolized Shaun a bit in regards to love. His troubles in understanding what love is was rather well explained on the show, but the fact that he has felt something for Lea for a long time, then was shown to not give up on Lea after being rejected, then did things like defending Lea to her parents, etc. made it seem like he was so in love that he wouldn't look at another woman for some time. But it has more to do with me having unrealistic expectations for tv couples!
But what bothers me more, if it's not a dream, is that Shaun would have no trouble being touched by someone he barely knows...I can understand the "being pursued for the first time", that he might be surprised and mesmerized by this woman's interest for him and because of his attraction for her - and also as a way to understand why he has these thoughts for this woman - he lets her sit close to him and kiss him, but that would still disappoint me.
And a last reason for why it's upsetting: as it has been stated several times already, it's VERY frustrating that Shaun (almost?) kisses and is physically close to another woman when we've seen him and Lea kiss only once and hug or just be physically very close 3-4 times in 8 episodes...
Andreas, you're right about Shaun and Lea putting each other on a pedestal, but i'd say more Lea than Shaun. Lea is probably representing some of the audience, like us, thinking that it was unlikely that Shaun would hurt her by getting physically close to another woman. That's a big downfall for Lea, who made the leap to commit to a relationship with him and who likely thought that the relationship could fail because of her.
It's so nice that we see Lea so much now, and with that and Melendez ghost, it's indeed as if the writers wanted to cement the fact that they don't care about the haters. I really hope that Lea will be as present in the second half of the season as the first half, being Shaun's girlfriend and working at the hospital there is no reason to not see her in every episode, but despite the fact that Freddie and Shore said that the season would focus on Shea working as a unit, I'm afraid that at some point the writers will fail to find ways to properly include her in some episodes, with her only appearing once or twice, and also because they might want to focus more on some characters in the second half, like Morgan. Although given the ratings and now the comments on ABC's instagram and twitter, Shea seems to be very much liked and Lea gets more public appreciation now, so it's doubtful that they don't continue to focus heavily on Shea and continue to develop Lea's character.
I forgot to add: I loved your idea Andreas about Dr D'souza being a caricature of how Lea-haters see Lea, it would be great if that were the case!
And talking about Jackson Han, I'd love to see him come back for one episode. Not that i like thag character, but it would be nice to have him see how far Shaun has come, to see that even if Shaun still has some communication issues that he was wrong in not trusting him. And I also want him to meet Lea, and to see Lea not hesitate to criticize the guy for not believing in Shaun and for kind of putting him in the dark away from people. It would be fun and cathartic!
>> That's a big downfall for Lea, who made the leap to commit to a relationship with him and who likely thought that the relationship could fail because of her.<<
Syl, that is probably at the core of this whole arc: from the beginning of season 2 there was this narrative that Lea had hurt Shaun and was likely to do it again – and now… surprise! Shaun is quite capable of doing the same to Lea. They both hold the power to hurt each other.
As for what might come in the 2nd half of the season? Quite obviously the newbies are sort of wasted resources right now. They eat up screen time but contribute very little to the advancement of the various plots. It is likely that there is something to come up soon with them (more or less) established by mid-season. Otherwise, I would consider the new characters to be a misfire. Their performers are all quite likable, but the characters lack the impact of a first-year Reznick. All central storylines unfolding right now work without them – probably even better, because of better focus.
Lim’s PTSD arc is likely to reach its climax in 4.10/4.11, with her condition going into remission during the 2nd half and her and Claire rebuilding their relationship. Lim’s struggles as Chief of Surgery might also revive Andrews’ career ambitions, keeping tensions high in the upper levels of St. Bonaventure.
Claire’s search for parental figures hopefully will be put to rest with Lim’s help, so that Claire could concentrate on her issues with trust and closeness.
That leaves Morgan’s storyline (since the show never really invested much in Park). Morgan was sort of put to halt for Lim’s PTSD – which is understandable because the topic is very relevant right now. In comparison, Morgan’s identity crisis is something that can build up in the background for some time. We know she is frustrated; she tries everything to keep in touch with her former colleagues and department; and she distracts herself with having Park around. Morgan (and in extension roomie Park) should be revisited after mid-season.
Combined with some decent storylines involving the newbies, this could mean that we see less of Lea than now, although I’m not sure about that. The show currently puts a lot of resources into the character. It is likely the writers want to use it in conjunction with Shaun further down the road.
Thank you for quoting my comment Kelli. I’m flattered. Like most people, I also let myself be carried away by Shaun’s cuteness and appearance, to the point where I forgot that he’s a human and he can make mistakes like the rest of us. Who has an impulsive side that can hurt a lot.
It’s nice to see that many people, especially the Lea/Shaun and Lea haters who claimed so strongly, that Lea would hurt Shaun first, that the disappointment in their relationship came from her. I’m sure they’re impressed.
It's taken me a couple of days to get to the comments - I've been giving it some thought. And I know you wanted thoughts from some of the guys, Kelli, so I am happy to provide :-)
I think back to one of my favorite Christmas movies - Scrooged. It's a loose rendition of "A Christmas Carol" where Bill Murray plays a ruthless TV Executive. Early in the movie, he releases a network promo for "A Christmas Carol" that is so bad, that some people have major stress attacks or become hospitalized. While that film played the concept for simple dramatic effect, seeing that happen in real life with this TGD promo has given me a new appreciation for the need to remain sensitive and not OVER-shock people.
I echo Syl's sentiment, in that I never really saw Shaun as infallible or immune to making a hurtful mistake. In fact, I tended to believe that Shaun WOULD be the one to make the first truly hurtful mistake. After all, the show's not going to stop following Shaun's journey, so I always figured he had the MOST room to make such a mistake.
To answer the questions about what infidelity, how long is "committed", and how much of a dealbreaker it all is, I offer the following:
- Just as you mention the pandemic leading to real-life safety precautions (and I get the frustration from fans wanting more passionate Shea moments; though I still maintain that relational substance is more important), we have to remember to credit it for the passage of several months in-show. As such, despite Glassman's highly inaccurate comment, Lea and Shaun HAVE been together as a couple for quite a while. Long enough to where any objective observer should be considering this "committed."
- To put it more succinctly, "committed" would suggest to me a relationship that is well-established, clearly defined and mutually recognized within the relationship.
- Shaun has never been shy about asking questions to superiors, colleagues, or even Lea herself whenever he's been unsure of proper protocol. And so the "he doesn't know better" excuse, in my opinion, would not suffice if Shaun were to do anything "more than friendly" with another woman - even if it's not specifically sexual.
- And I'd even be weary of Shaun kissing her under Lea's advice, as such advice could easily be a "secret test of character" that Shaun (or many men) could fail.
- That all being said, I don't think it's a "one size fits all" approach to what would permanently derail the relationship. I think it could survive a kiss, or even a touch - after some "space to think".
- But anything more explicit/sexual? Theoretically, a relationship could survive it. I've certainly heard of it. But I cannot recall a single instance of people I know that HAVE endured it.
- It would take a VERY special level of remorse, repentance, and counseling. Probably too much to fit within the greater scope of the show. So in this context, I probably would say that the "one strike rule" indeed applies.
With this episode now just a few days away (instead of a few weeks), I look forward to being able to move on from the stress of the anticipation. And how AWESOME is the idea of Lea potentially saving the day in the following episode, 4.10???!!?
For all of the wonder, all of the uncertainty, I close with this. Shaun and Lea have accomplished so much, and have gotten so far. And because of this, the best is surely yet to come!
Hey!!! I just couldn't help but to comment on this because I saw myself quoted and wow, such an honor Kelli thank you so much. I really, really, appreciate the comments and vision all of you have. I just watched the sneak peek for the episode and Park Was among my favorite characters. My only hope is that Monday's episode has a purpose and that it doesn't feel like they run out of ideas and just threw something like potential infidelity because it was the easier resource. Cheaper drama, in my opinion. I also saw a Pic that according to the official page is a Behind the scenes Pic of Freddie and Paige but I believe is a still of the episode, there Lea looked fine with the same in love face she has always given to Shaun so on one hand is a relief but in the other scares me because without a proper writing the whole thing could be just like a comedy sketch. I will give the benefit of doubt until Monday. I'm way more excited for episode 10, if I'm honest, can't wait to see Lea rocking it and Shaun finally being able to be a support for her as she has been for him in the past.
I have been vocal about boycotting S4x9 as feel it is very cruel to have so many viewers scared during these times of great pain. The only site where you can see BTS photos of HER with Shaun and Lea. Shea.endgame cut her out of the photo, and shea.gif did not publish them at all being thoughtful to fans of The Good Doctor.
So No, I do not trust the writers, or have faith in the process as what we need is HOPE and ABC Promo have taken that hope away No one on this thread has mentioned WHY other fan pages have not published the BTS photos with the predator in it
Our group has skipped to the BTS photos on S4x10 where I published all the BTS photos but refuse to include HER in any of them as I have a conscience and try to show kindness to all especially those who suffer from PTSD, severe anxiety who are scared.
ABC Promo took away hope instead of giving viewers hope. Why can they not leave Shaun and Lea alone, so they can enjoy being in love, especially after Shaun's wonderful speech to Lea's parents saying "We will face challenges but by facing those challenges together makes us stronger".
I am still on complete bed rest due to the shock of that Promo where my BP shot up and I had a mini stroke and rushed to hospital and kept in on a drip. I am recovering slowly but my left eye is half closed.
Shocks like this are called triggers and the results can be fatal with people dying of anxiety attacks causing fatal strokes, heart attacks, suicides. Thankfully, PTSD is being covered when Glassie chats to Lim, who Glassie is worried and cares about as Lim was a Glassy resident. I hope Glassie gets Lim the help she needs for PTSD and meanwhile they could also deal with mental health.
Many on here are discussing S4x9 as if this were nothing when this is HUGE. If this were nothing, fan pages would be discussing this episode, not blanking it. All are focusing on S4x10. To miss out discussing the episode due in 2 days time is unheard-of and I have never seen this happens before on fan groups before
.
Did anyone listen to the music played when Shaun gestured Lea with his hand towards the bathroom after his Cowbell Speech. When Lea said NOW Oh the lyrics played ""Give me one more second to dry my eyes, smokes in our eyes or in the distance" Excellent choice by The Good Doctor, a very beautiful new song by Matt Berninger - One More Second.
"Just give me a little more time Give me a little bit of warning"
Shaun does not like surprises and needs time to try something new, so when Lea appeared naked about to join Shaun for shower sex, Shaun said NO, it isn't safe, Lea pushes Shauns out of his comfort zone and doesn't baby Shaun, which is great. Shaun had to do a poll on the safety of shower sex at work even Lea took part in this poll where the majority said Yes
The clips show the ***** trying to kiss Shaun shocking caused a huge amount of stress among viewers on every Instagram page as nobody wants Lea who has very low self-esteem hurt.
Why did ABC put viewers through so much pain showing the Promo only one hour after S4x8 which was a great episode showing Shaun and Lea joining forces against all odds.
The only reason I can think of was to improve ratings which I hope crash and burn, so The Good Doctor gets their lowest ratings since the show started as ABC care more about ratings than viewers health. Many viewers are saying this episode is too stressful to watch
I love how Tony Payne said this:-
"With this episode, now just a few days away (instead of a few weeks), I look forward to being able to move on from the stress of the anticipation. And how AWESOME is the idea of Lea potentially saving the day in the following episode, 4.10???!!?"

I think Shaun, as every man feels very flattered and excited about the affection of such a splendid woman, as Dr. Sousa. Especially, that as you very rightfully pointed out, he grew up taunted by the opposite sex. (Do you remember the scene, when a girl enticed him to kiss, just to mock him publicly?). But his conscience warns him, that this is not right. He is "brutally honest", as Lea said, and he will confess his " sinful" thoughts to Lea. IMO, the most important thing, that he loves Lea very much, and I'm sure, he will overcome this futile propensity. He's had a beautiful years-long friendship/love history with Lea, which is very hard for him to throw away with just one motion. We have to take into consideration, that both of them fought and suffered for this love! A lot! I found it very reassuring the way Lea reacted to his supposed confession. She loves him, with the whole of heart, and I'm sure she'll forgive him this stumble.
Remember, Carly and Shaun's relationship could survive a similar, very serious, and hurtful episode, the trip to Wyoming, and the sleeping together with Lea. I agree with Tony, a relationship can rarely go on after real sexual infidelity. But I'm sure, that's not the case here. Shaun felt deep remorse even at the mere THOUGHT of his improper feelings. He will make everything he can to make good his "sin" to Lea. She is the most important in his life. He loves Lea more even than her parents.
I was reading some commenti a second time and something Andrea wrote strofe me. This part in particular:
"Because I concur with Goltran, just as we have seen Shaun idealizing Lea (“… because your breasts are excellent. […] I am thrilled by every part of your body.”), so has Lea done with Shaun. It is time for their perception of each other to become more grounded.
Also, it is important for them to discover what traits and abilities constitute them as individuals, so that they aren’t thrown totally off-balance when their partner does something unexpected or hurtful".
Do you think that the writers had this concept in mind when they wrote Glassy's line in Parenting, about Shaun and Lea barely knowing each other?
I find that they seldom introduce a concept that is not strictly relevant for the development of the story ahead.
And Andreas' suggestion combined with what (little) we know of the following episodes, is quite intriguing in regard of what to expect about Shea's next struggles.

That is an intriguing idea, Daniela!
While Glassy’s line most obviously alluded to his own marriage in the first place, TGD’s content is often quite multi-layered. Therefore, this line might as well concern Shaun and Lea as well, yet not literally as we interpreted it up to know, but regarding the layers of their personalities that they – and we as an audience – haven’t discovered yet.
Lea revealing that she had been married once and that she still is easily mesmerized by good looking guys walking by is definitely news to Shaun… So, we might in for some more surprises about the characters!
Sorry, I had to repost because the autocorrect (in Italian) changed some words in my previous comment.
Just to throw a truth grenade… Remember Shaun saying that he things of having sex with everyone but mostly with Carly in episode 3.13? Having a crush and being tempted to kiss another woman is therefore quite in-character for Shaun.
Hi. I always read the comments here. But I decided to comment today.
Last season Carly suffered a disappointment similar to the one Lea will experience in episode nine.
In the episode "Fractured" last season, Carly suffered with Shaun's confession of having slept with Lea. Although Shaun's situation with Lea did not involve sexual desire or touching and kissing. Shaun knew that there was something different and that a part of him, well,a big part, wanted to be with Lea. And obviously Carly knew this. So much so that she asked Lea to leave the apartment.
My point is, maybe, the writers want to put Lea through something similar.
Folks, just to avoid premature stress eating in the advent of episode 4.09, here are some ideas why the episode might not be a breaking point (pun intended) but in fact just a small puzzle piece for Shea and some buying for time on the way to the mid-season climax. Look at the general structure of any season in the show.
The episode numbers do not match exactly, but the narrative structure is very similar in every season.
First half Season 1: Glassman worries that Shaun might not be as self-sufficient as he thinks. He tries to force Shaun into counseling and wants to have him a life coach. Shaun opposes the idea. The tension between them raises and culminates in Shaun hitting Glassman in the face and running away (1.09 Sacrifice).
In Islands Part One (1.10) Shaun takes a literal break from the hospital with Lea providing the exact opposite of Glassman’s overbearing care. Shaun discovers that he has self-agency, that someone has trust in his abilities and that there is a life beyond the hospital halls (the latter courtesy of Lea). In Islands Part Two (1.11) Shaun declares his independence from Glassman by giving a two-weeks notice, although ultimately revoking it because it would have been nonsense to waste all the other characters half into the season and have him move to Hershey.
First half of season 2: Despite his autism, Shaun has been accepted now as a resident, is at better terms with Glassman again and found a common ground with Lea being roommates. The equilibrium is violently interrupted by the arrival of a deadly virus in Quarantine Part One (2.10) and the story concludes with Part Two (2.11).
The next episode literally deals with the Aftermath (2.12) of the virus outbreak. We follow the staff on their day off. Shaun reinforces his bond with Glassman and Lea and Glassman learns to accept Lea in Shaun’s life. Though, while Glassman entertains the idea that Shaun might have the chance for love, Lea sticks to the friends-only agreement. That urges Shaun to really confront his feelings during the 2nd half of the season and ultimately prompts him to ask for a date (although not Lea… yet).
But that’s not all: the aftermath of the virus also sets a string of events into motion that will get Shaun and Andrews fired: Andrews’ weak decision making as Hospital President comes under scrutiny and forces his hand, hiring Jackson Han as Chief of Surgery. The conflict between Han and Shaun will dominate the episodes leading into the season finale (and bring Shaun into contact with Carly).
First half of season 3: Shaun navigates the shallow waters of early romance with Carly, seemingly putting his feelings for Lea to rest. There are some bumps in the road, but Shaun manages. Though, life has different plans and Shaun has to confront his past in Friends and Family (3.10), tearing old wounds open again. Though, Shaun not only has to face his violent father but also the fact that he instinctively chose Lea over Carly to be at his side in times of need.
A single night of innocent consoling proximity fractures Shaun’s peaceful life again in episode 3.11 and the cracks will widen for the rest of the season until earth itself opens up and swallows him…
End 1 of 2
2 of 2
So, there is some evidence suggesting that season 4 might apply a similar structure. Setting beside the season premiere, which was dictated by present events hard to ignore, Shaun mostly sailed smooth waters so far in season 4. He had some minor skirmishes with Lea and overcame his reluctance to teach rather quickly. Time to shake things up considerably in in episodes 4.09 and especially 4.10! Mid-season has always brought a shift for all major characters.
Episode 4.11 seems to lead into a new direction for the second half of the season: Glassman presents a challenge to the residents and there's rivalry going on between Shaun and Morgan. Season 4 asks if Shaun can be a supervisor. Might this episode mark the start of the race for Chief Resident with Shaun, Claire and Park as contenders?
Also, the cyber attack on the hospital is likely to have severe ramifications that will affect many more characters similar to the virus outbreak. Lea might find herself in the middle of a legal investigation how the attack could have happened in the first place. A good performance might earn her another promotion (once she is cleared from possible charges for neglecting her duties) that puts pressure on the relationship. For Lim the new crisis might be the straw that breaks her back; Andrews might feel motivated to step up his career when Lim is vulnerable.
While we’re all looking at a Dr. D’Souza, the real game changers might follow in the subsequent episodes.
Great point Andreas. Exactly. Not least because Dr. D'Souza is scheduled to participate only in the episode Irresponsible Salad Bar Practices .
Thanks, Andreas and MelanieMeirr for your new postings
For helping my anxiety and letting me know that the pathology resident is only in S4x8
After the Promo appearing just one hour after a wonderful episode I got such a shock that it triggered my PTSD and had to go to the hospital as had a mini-stroke affecting my left-hand side so my eye affected won't stay open along with my left arm and hand. I have been on bed rest since at home. Tonight I cannot sleep, my PTSD is on fire with my BP off the scale causing me nonstop nose bleeds and been physically sick daily.
So many viewers have been affected by this Promo you just need to read the fan pages and feel the stress and panic caused.
I was the mirror image of Paige when young both in looks and personality and something so painful happened to me I nearly died. I had closed that box so tightly for many years.
The Promo triggered it open and the shock was too much for my brain to process causing my mini-stroke, having another one that may kill me. I thank you all for your understanding and cannot wait for tomorrow night to be done and dusted.
I can't watch S4x10 where my wish is for Lea to beat the cyber hackers, save the hospital and be the hero where Lea gets credit and finally realizes not being a Dr/Surgeon/Pathologist doesn't make the others better than her in fact it is the opposite.
Lea is very intelligent and the head of IT Without her expertise and beating the cyber hackers at their own game and by doing so saves lives in the hospital which otherwise would be lost.
Yet Lea is frequently called flakey that word is such an insult, Lea is a free spirit, wacky and unconventional this adds another dimension to Lea's intelligence that many others don't have. I would love Glassy to hug Lea saying "I am proud of you" that alone would boost Lea's self-esteem like no other.
Lea was almost begging for approval from Glassy during their private chat Lea "My parents have an issue with Shaun and I just don't want Shaun's PARENT to have a problem with us too. Glassy "Too Bad" Talk about twisting the knife into Lea. I love Glassy but wanted to slap him at that point. Lea calling Glassy Shaun's parent was a huge compliment and really touched me.
Shaun is now a man in his late 20s and no longer the child Glassy rescued aged 14 Shaun tutors new residents in his professional life and in Shaun's private life he has won the girl of his dreams Lea's heart, they are living together in a very loving relationship.
It's time Glassy cut those apron strings as if he doesn't Glassy will lose Shaun and Glassy will be heartbroken. At the meal, Shaun's face said it all when Glassy said "Life is full of surprises" Shaun "Like how you don't like Lea" Lea looked at Shaun her eyes full of love, Morgan for once was speechless and the evening came to an abrupt end.
Shaun has loved Lea since they first met in S1x3 when Lea borrowed batteries for her PS3 controller.
Special thanks to Tony Payne who has been my rock chatting to me daily about the show especially the music choices from bands I have seen in concert so many happy memories This has helped me greatly. Tony will let me know if I can watch S4x9 safely and when to fast forward my download
I hope they can see this because they commented near the top of the thread, but BIG SHOUT OUT and thank you to more new reader/posters:
Goltran (I think you posed some fantastic questions to be asked, especially "Do you love me for who I am or for who you want to think I am?"
...and Steven (I know you made many (!) attempts prior to now; I appreciate your perseverance... for others who have wanted to post but can't, I think you have to have a Google account and be logged into it for posting success.)
Also a wave to those posting as Unknown or Anonymous, especially if you're new to posting as well. (Except "Unknown" Daniela, LOL)
We're almost through the LONG 3-week wait! Will we come away from "Irresponsible..." saying OMG or "Oh MAAN" (Much Ado About Nothing)..? Or something in between? I suspect my typing fingers will have a busy week either way...
So, all still well with #Shea... although I must say Lea spying on Dr. D'Souza, not only taking notes but even testing her smell is somewhat compulsive behavior.

Kind of reminds me of Shaun in season 1, conducting field studies on flirting or smiles. Shaun's autism seems to rub of on Lea a little bit, doesn't it? 😅
Lea showed how well she has come to know Shaun, in my opinion. The way she resorted to an unconventional solution (unconventional for a neurotypical person, but completely suitable for Shaun) was amazing!
And again we’ve learnt our lesson about not trusting promos. At least the part that is shown in the promo…
I concur, Daniela. Lea knows really well what matters in Shaun’s autistic perception. But it also shows how insecure she is about herself. She would not go this great lengths it she wasn’t concerned about the situation.
We should take note that this story is positioned between her parents alienating her and Shaun and the cyber attack taking place in the next episode.
All these plot points address Lea’s self-esteem and her worries that she might not be able to handle a romantic relationship with Shaun. So far, she has been astonishingly successful. Considering how often her character was neglected in the previous seasons, the writers to make up leeway. Though, let’s not get carried away with the success – there are still plenty of episodes left in the season. Lea can’t always win while everyone else in the cast is suffering.
You’re right, Andreas. But, let’s savor this victory for now!
I have to confess that I’m at a loss about what can possibly start to go wrong. But I’m sure that something will, because things are going too smoothly for Shaun, both professionally and personally. I fear for the people he loves the most, right now. And I’m also very intrigued by the working title of 4x12…I’m wondering what it could be about.
I found it interesting the way she handled Shaun’s Crush. But I think that Lea should not have researched the unpleasant actions of the doctor in relation to salads. It would be good to let Shaun find out on his own. But it’s true, there’s a lot going on between now and the end of the season.
Andreas
When Tony told me all was safe to watch S4x9 I breathed a huge sign of relief and my anxiety is slowly dropping. I had downloaded the episode as without adverts it's only 43 mins long instead of an hour, Have watched it twice so now I can finally relax.
LEA PLAYED A BLINDER and I don't think what Lea did was compulsive at all. I am not jealous I never have been but I would be worried if my partner told me they had a crush on a woman from work and had a dream of the woman kissing him. I felt Lea hid her insecurities really well by reassuring Shaun their relationship was not in trouble as Lea must have been worried and looked hurt. Lea has great facial expressions/
Lea works in the same hospital as Shaun making it easy to have a look at this resident D'Souza who Shaun told Lea kissed him during his dream. Most dreams or fantasies involve someone you have never met, a film star a pop star When I was young I had a massive crush on Marc Bolan. If my partner said he had a dream of kissing someone at work I would need to see who this person was so I consider that normal.
I loved how Lea observed D'Souza taking notes in the canteen while standing next to D'Souza The best part was when Lea said to Shaun in her office "At the salad bar she used the cucumber tongs to reach for the cucumbers...... then the tomatoes...... then the olives........ then the pickles" saying each items name slowly to Shaun leaving those CRUSHING EVIL PICKLES until the end, the look on Shaun's face was priceless and I thought Shaun may be sick at the very thought. Lea is a smart cookie as crushed the crush with simple pickles.
Another great move by Lea was when they all met at the exit with Shaun looking awkward D'Souza asked Shaun and Lea are you two going out for the night and Lea replied we sure Lea made Shaun look at D'Souzza, then Lea asked "Is that cafeteria salad are there pickles in there D'Souza Do you want some Lea "I'm good thank you". Shaun "No thank you", I am sure poor Shaun nearly fainted at the very thought. Shaun "It does help to focus on her irresponsible Salad Bar Practices and dietary preferences" Lea "I've got a ton of strategies to manage discomfort. Shaun "so do I" Shaun and Lea left arm in arm to survive another day. With Lea helping Shaun face his fears once again.
I wish we had seen Shaun and Lea kiss at the end of this episode. In the dream, D'Sousa kissed Shaun passionately showing kissing is allowed. Why could we not have seen Shaun and Lea who are in a loving relationship kissing each other passionately on getting home to their apartment ending the episode with a well-deserved kiss full of love. Instead, Shaun and Lea left the hospital with arms linked both knowing strategies to manage discomfort, so again left to our imagination.
Lea has more than proved herself during season 4 and should be awarded girlfriend of the year as living with Shaun and ALL of his quirks cannot be easy.
I can't wait for S4x10 where the hospital is being held ranson for 2 million by cyber criminals. Lea tells Glassy she feels in their system which she may be able to solve a so is given 24 hrs by Glassy to do so or lives will be lost.
